LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight
Released just over a week ago on May 22, 2026, LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight is being hailed as the finest LEGO title ever built and a premier couch co-op experience. Developed by Traveller’s Tales (TT Games) and published by Warner Bros. Games, it is the fourth standalone entry in the LEGO Batman franchise.
This game marks a huge technological pivot for the studio, completely abandoning their old proprietary engine in favor of Unreal Engine 5, resulting in a stunning, rain-slicked open-world Gotham City built like a massive toy diorama. The gameplay takes heavy inspiration from the Batman: Arkham series, featuring a smooth, adapted freeflow combat system complete with counters, dodges, and grapple-led traversal.
Unlike previous LEGO games that bloated the roster with hundreds of interchangeable reskins, Legacy of the Dark Knight deliberately narrows its focus to just seven deeply unique playable characters, each boasting highly specific mechanics and gadget wheels.
PC System Requirements
Thanks to Unreal Engine 5, the game looks breathtaking with dense atmospheric lighting, though it scales down incredibly well on a variety of mid-range hardware.
